The real reason organizations fall behind
Organizations don't fall behind all at once.
They fall behind one missed signal, one delayed decision, one outdated process, and one weak execution habit at a time.
Most organizations don't struggle because they lack tools or ideas. They struggle because they don't have the clarity, alignment, and disciplined execution to turn those tools and ideas into results.
That is exactly what The One Step Ahead Blueprint is built to fix.
Interactive, high-impact keynotes and executive sessions.

Speaker Bio
Charles W. Sherrard Jr.
Executive Advisor · Keynote Speaker
Charles W. Sherrard Jr. — Chuck to the teams he's led — has built a career at the intersection of technology, leadership, and human connection. Over more than two decades, his path has run from a young help desk analyst, to field operations as a defense contractor in post-war Kosovo, to the boardrooms of Amazon and Google. He has been front and center for most of the major inflection points in modern computing; his very first project as a manager was rolling out Windows 3.0, the first graphical interface corporations adopted at scale.
He began his management career as Regional Manager of IT & Communications in Kosovo with KBR, leading a team of 30+ as the company helped build Camp Bondsteel in support of the U.S. Army. From there he led global infrastructure and SAP deployments across 70 international sites supporting 14,000 employees — work that carried him through Dubai, Kuwait, Iraq, Kazakhstan, and Afghanistan, and taught him a lesson that still anchors his thinking: technology alone doesn't move missions forward. People do.
Back in Houston, he managed enterprise programs at Alert Logic and NSC Global for clients including Shell Oil. The leadership philosophy he built there — clarity, transparency, rhythm, and trust — went on to define his work at Amazon Web Services, where he helped build the AWS Engagement Delivery Framework and scale professional services teams globally. As a Delivery Lead at Google Cloud, he leads complex transformation programs for major enterprises while championing secure, scalable cloud and AI adoption.
The result is a rare dual perspective: a global technologist who is also a teacher, mentor, and storyteller. For more than twenty years he also owned and operated The Houston Wedding DJ, performing at hundreds of events and learning how to move people — emotionally and energetically. That same ability to read a room now defines his keynote style: dynamic, engaging, and grounded in lived experience.
My Why
I believe people and organizations don't fall behind all at once. They fall behind one missed signal, one delayed decision, one outdated process, and one weak execution habit at a time.
My father taught me that to succeed, you have to stay one step ahead of the competition. That lesson has shaped how I see leadership, technology, business, and life.
After years of leading complex technology and transformation work, I've seen that most organizations don't struggle because they lack tools or ideas. They struggle because they don't have the clarity, alignment, and disciplined execution to turn those tools and ideas into results. That's why I created The One Step Ahead Blueprint.
My why is simple: to help leaders and organizations stay one step ahead.
The One Step Ahead Assessment helps leaders identify where their organization may be falling behind in strategy, technology, operations, decision-making, and execution. It gives teams a clearer view of risks, gaps, and opportunities so they can focus on the right actions before pressure forces reaction.
